Disposable Wipes and Freeway Rants – Thoughts from April 12, 2023

I haven’t talked about my toilet habits in a while, so let’s do that. At home, I’ve been using disposable wipes. I use two disposable wipes and much less toilet paper. In this way, I’m single handedly saving the environment. Okay, enough with the jokes. They simply get me cleaner sooner than toilet paper alone. I poop at work (I never thought I would say that sentence), but I just use toilet paper. Maybe I could put a container of wet wipes in my pocket, but I know I would forget and I wouldn’t like the sound of them in my pocket. I’ve taken them on vacation and I haven’t clogged a hotel toilet since. I’ve seen in the restrooms at work that people have used wet paper towels to accomplish the same thing. It’s not the same thing because you’re not supposed to flush paper towels down the toilet. They are not flushable. I’ve had this idea before, but we should develop classes on using restrooms. Obviously, people need it.

I’ve developed a ranting style for my dash-cam freeway rants. I raise my hand toward the empty seat next to me to indicate I’m starting a rant. When I finish the hilarious and insightful rant, I stick my hand out again and say, “Rant over!” I’ve only watched a few of the videos. I still don’t know how usable the footage is. The audio may be another issue. I’ve listened to some videos that had distortion in them. It was mainly when I was playing a song too loud. This kind of sucks because I recorded several videos of me singing with songs. When I have a spare 10 hours, I’ll find out.

I have to talk about this because I saw two examples of it in the last few minutes. A vehicle is approaching a stop sign, and a person is at the crosswalk. In one case, the person was waving the vehicle on, but the vehicle was waving them on. The vehicle eventually won out, and the person walked. In the second case, the vehicle drove through at the wave. I am usually the vehicle in this scenario and will wave the person on. The vehicle should be the one to wave the pedestrian on. I just saw a third scenario. Someone stopped their vehicle, and the person ran to the other side of the street. You really don’t need to run. The vehicle is going to have many more stops ahead of them. They have time for you to walk across the street. Just walk normally and wave a “thank you” to the driver.

I was driving into work today and saw a building that said “God Bless America” on the side of it. I couldn’t tell what the building was for, but it was in an industrial area. It looked like a storage business. This sums up everything that’s wrong with America. The percentage of religiously affiliated people declines every year and the percentage of non-religiously affiliated people increases. This business is catering to a decreasing customer base. These words are facing the freeway so they are advertising for Christianity instead of their own business. None of this sounds like a sound business model to me. It would not surprise me if the business was owned by non-Christians who are simply catering to them because they tend to have money. It’s funny how Christianity and wealth go hand in hand. Just like you can’t sell to whites only anymore, there will be a time when you can no longer discriminate against non-religious people.
