Cowboy Hats – Thoughts from September 10, 2022

I saw someone working with a cowboy hat on today and I wanted to punch him in the face. While I would never actually punch someone in the face, it got me thinking about things people could wear that would let me know we could never be friends. I’m not talking about people who are wearing costumes. These are people who choose to wear certain things in their daily life. I would include the entire group of religious clothing items because of ethical reasons. This gets to people with advertisements on their clothes. After all, religious clothing items are nothing but advertisements for your religion. I would say hats of any kind are a no go unless they are required for the environment. When I see people wearing hats inside their vehicles, they will never be my friend. Anyone wearing inappropriate sayings or pictures on their clothes in public are dead to me. I’m fine with these things in my movies, books, and comic books, but not in public. Sometimes people wear too little or too many clothes inappropriate for where they are. In the end, I could never be friends with people who wear illogical clothes.

I think the phrase “don’t judge a book by its cover” should stop being used. The way people present themselves indicates who they are. When I see people in fancy outfits, jewelry, and expensive accessories, I see a person I have nothing in common with. I would have nothing to talk to them about and I’m sure they would feel the same about me. When I see someone in regular clothes like a regular person, I reserve judgement until they open their mouth. If someone has tattoos, unnaturally colored hair, or piercings, I’m only going to get opinions about what these things mean to them. I don’t give a crap about the opinions of a person who would do these illogical things to their body. It’s a huge indicator that they have beliefs I don’t have. I’m getting to where I don’t want friends who believe things without knowing whether they are true.

If I were the king of the universe, I would declare an end to kings of the universe. I really don’t like it when people speculate what they would do if they were in charge. People don’t find themselves in charge of things without working toward that position as a goal. Most people work harder to get themselves in charge than what they can actually do when they are in charge. If they didn’t work hard to be in charge, they don’t want to make any decisions that will jeopardize their chances of staying in charge. Being in charge comes with all the responsibilities of whatever you are in charge of. The reason people in charge don’t make sweeping declarations is because everyone under them will question what they declare. This was done when kings were in charge, but kings do not run today’s world. The king of the universe doesn’t exist and never will.

The vehicle I’m in right now has a mileage of 15151. Need I say more?

I was talking about food with someone who was an admitted picky eater. I find most picky eaters don’t like seafood, most vegetables, or foods they find gross just thinking about them. Certain textures are a big turnoff to many people. Slimy things can make them physically ill. The only things that people should truly avoid are poisons, foods that have gone bad, and foods that have no nutritional value. Most of the picky eaters diet comprises things with little nutritional value that taste good. Whatever psychological issues causing them to be a picky eater will continue until they deal with them. Picky eaters usually become less picky as they age because they realize the food they were picky about will not ruin their life as they thought. In the end, a picky eater only comes out of a privileged life where food is plentiful. Reality is not the picky eaters friend.

There is certain information that is 100% unnecessary to know. If you want to have a boring conversation about boring things, you need to know this information, but why would anyone want to have a boring conversation about boring things? You can hear an example of this in the nerdy conversations from fans of science fiction or fantasy stories. They argue over fictional information as if that fiction came out of history books. Only one person needs to know every detail of a fictional world – the author. Everyone else is wasting their time memorizing fictional places, characters, and things. My biggest problem is when people talk about the intentions of fictional characters. If it isn’t clear, that’s the fault of the author. Sometimes it isn’t clear because it isn’t supposed to be clear. Especially in an adaptation of a book, you don’t get the inner thoughts of characters. Most of the time, I don’t like the inner thoughts of characters in books because those thoughts make them look stupid.
